Zoom Settings for Singers

For vocal sessions, we will be using Zoom video conferencing. You do not need an account, and it is free. However, you may sign up for a free account if you wish. You can download the program onto your laptop (optional). If you are using your phone or tablet, you will need to download the app.

The system will prompt you to download this the first time you use a link, but it’s recommended to set this up in advance. You only need to download the app/program to your device of choice before the party, then click the link at our start time.  Please bear in mind the fussy nature of technology.

I’ve set some guidelines for our participants for the best possible outcome.

Zoom Settings for Singers

Items you will need to participate:

  1. Instrumental/karaoke tracks or self-accompaniment
  2. Lyrics for the song(s) you’ll be singing
  3. Two audio devices (one for listening and viewing the Zoom session and one for playing your accompaniment from.)
  4. Great internet access
  5. Zoom app
  6. Zoom link (provided to you with your booking confirmation email.)

Adjust Advanced Audio Settings in Zoom.

See my video for directions.

For a basic vocal session, at a minimum, you will need to have one device to watch the Zoom room and one device to play your track (As seen in the “good” picture.) It would be best to have one device to watch the Zoom room and one device to play your track, preferably amplified by a speaker and singing through a microphone. Either way, I recommend singing 3 to 5 feet away from the camera.

When you log on for a session, close all other tabs on your computer for optimum performance.

I’m looking forward to our time together! If you have any questions or concerns in advance, don’t hesitate to reach out for help.
